Organic, textural, and grounded in natural forms, “Basin” is a sculptural fiber art piece that evokes the quiet majesty of carved landscapes, riverbeds, and forested basins. Inspired by the way water shapes earth over time, this handwoven work brings a sense of flow and formation to the walls it adorns.

Built on a soft ivory foundation, Basin is layered with plush, hand-dyed yarns in deep emerald, golden ochre, earthy chestnut, and creamy wool. The forms meander and swell like topographic contours—each ridge, loop, and fringe suggesting the meeting of land and water, sediment and sky.

Vertical strands fall like waterfalls between woolen hills, while pillowy coils and nubby textures mimic cloudbanks or mist settling into the valley below. The composition balances movement and stillness, making it an ideal statement piece for serene interiors with a natural or modern aesthetic.

CARE 

Please handle with care.  Camille's weavings are designed to be a decorative wall hanging, not used as a rug. A gentle steaming is welcome to help straighten fringe after shipping. No routine maintenance is required other than an occasional dusting with a feather duster.

I absolutely love working on large scale commissions, so please get in touch if you're interested in something similar. I hand dye all of my own yarns, so matching a particular space or color palette is right up my alley!
